Swadhina puts up special efforts for generating discussions on contemporary issues. This not only provides scope for awareness generation but also create interest among people on those issue. This process is done mainly through various methods.

This Bengali newsletter is as old as Swadhina organisation. During this journey of Swadhina 63 numbers have been brought out. We are proud that we have been able to bring out so many editions in spite of our various project and organisational responsibilities. There is no full time staff for publication work at Swadhina . With the steady growth of the Swadhina orgnisation this journal too has flourished - from the 50th issue, the magazine has a special look with the entire printing work computerised. The magazine standard is improving as is reflected from the letters that we receive from our readers. The number of Life Members has also increased day by day. So far 75 men and women are Life Members of Swadhina Patrika. |

A handbook on Agriculture published.The prime aim is to provide tips and guidance to women and men involved
in farming as means of income generation. One particular thrust point was to point out how productivity could be increased without the use of chemicals. This book was brought out after several month's research and documentation work by an editorial team comprising of Ms. Saswati Roy, Ms. Smriti Sarkar & Ms. Srichandra Venkataramanan.This large sized hand book printed in Bengali language with about 200 pages,printed on large A4 size,also explains and provides guidance on various aspects of animal husbandry. With the help of this simple language handbook one can easily maintain and earn through poultry, piggery, goatrearing, dairy etc. It stresses on starting small size enterprises that are easily manageable, within the capacity of the simple farmers and, sustainable. The second part of the handbook is also ready for release, which mainly deals with cure of different animal diseases. |
